Overview
Enabling Store Mode is a simple toggle in your settings. Once activated, your system will track inventory in two locations: Shop and Store. This section walks you through the activation process step by step.
💡 Who Can Enable Store Mode?
Only users with Admin or Owner access can enable/disable Store Mode. This is a business-wide setting that affects all users.
Step-by-Step: Enable Store Mode

Open Settings
Click on Settings in the main menu. Look for the gear icon or "Settings" link in the navigation.

Navigate to Common Settings
Within Settings, find the Common Settings section. This is where toggle features are located.

Find the "Store" Toggle
Look for a setting labeled "Store" or "Store Mode". It will have an ON/OFF checkbox or toggle switch.

Enable Store Mode
Click the checkbox or toggle to turn Store Mode ON. The setting saves immediately.

Refresh the Page
After enabling, refresh your browser (press F5 or Ctrl+R) to see all the new Store Mode features.
✅ Store Mode is Now Active!
You should now see:
- Two stock columns (Shop/Store) in product details
- Destination choice when making purchases
- Stock Transfer option in the menu
- Transfer Reports in the Reports section
What Happens to Existing Stock?
When you first enable Store Mode:
- All existing stock goes to Shop - Your current inventory becomes Shop stock
- Store starts empty - The Store location has zero stock initially
- No data is lost - All your products and quantities remain intact
- You can transfer later - Move items from Shop to Store as needed
⚠️ Recommended: Before enabling Store Mode, do a quick physical stock count. This helps you decide how much to transfer to the Store location later.
Verifying Store Mode is Working
Check 1: Product Details
- Go to Stock Management
- Click Manage on any product
- Look for two sets of stock fields:
- Shop Stock: unit_1, unit_2, unit_3
- Store Stock: store_unit_1, store_unit_2, store_unit_3
Check 2: Purchase Sheet
- Open the Purchase Sheet
- You should see a destination selection dialog or dropdown
- Options should include "Shop" and "Store"
Check 3: Stock Transfer Menu
- Look for Stock Transfer or Transfer Stock in the menu
- This option only appears when Store Mode is enabled
Disabling Store Mode
If you need to turn off Store Mode:
- Go to Settings → Common Settings
- Toggle Store Mode to OFF
- Refresh the page
⚠️ Before Disabling:
- Transfer all Store stock to Shop first
- Stock in Store location won't be accessible in normal mode
- Consider running transfer reports first for records
Troubleshooting
Store Mode not showing after enabling?
Try a hard refresh: Press Ctrl+Shift+R (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+R (Mac). If still not working, log out and log back in.
Can't find the Store setting?
Make sure you're logged in as Admin or Owner. Regular users cannot see or change this setting.
Stock Transfer option not appearing?
The transfer feature only shows when Store Mode is ON. Check that the setting is enabled and refresh the page.
