Overview
The Notifications System keeps you informed about important business activities - sales, stock changes, customer deposits, and more. Get alerts right on your device!
Types of Notifications:
- In-App Notifications - Show in the notification bell icon
- Push Notifications - Pop up on your device even when app is closed
Why Use Notifications?
- Stay informed without constantly checking the system
- Get alerted to important activities (big sales, low stock)
- Know when staff make significant changes
- Never miss critical business events
Viewing Notifications
The Notification Bell
Look for the bell icon in the top right corner of GSK POS.
- Red badge shows number of unread notifications
- Click the bell to see your notifications
- Click any notification to see details
- Notifications show who did what and when
Notification Details
Each notification shows:
Title
What happened (e.g., "Sale Completed")
Message
Details about the activity
Who
Which user performed the action
When
Date and time of the activity
Notification Types
GSK POS can notify you about various business activities:

Push Notifications
Get notifications even when you're not looking at GSK POS!
How Push Notifications Work
- Notification is triggered by an activity (e.g., big sale)
- Your device receives a push message
- Alert pops up on your screen
- Click to open GSK POS and see details
Push Notification Benefits:
- Get alerts even when app is closed
- Works on phones, tablets, and computers
- Instant delivery for critical events
- Can be enabled/disabled per device
Enabling Push Notifications
- Your browser will ask "Allow notifications?"
- Click Allow
- Your device is now registered for push notifications
- An admin must approve your device to receive notifications
Note:
Push notifications require browser permission. If you blocked notifications, you'll need to enable them in your browser settings.
Managing Notification Settings
Admins can control who receives which notifications.
Accessing Settings
- Click the bell icon in the top right
- Click Settings (gear icon)
- Or go to Settings → Notifications
Device Management
Device Status:
- Total Devices - All devices that have accessed your business
- Approved Devices - Devices cleared to use GSK POS
- Notifications Enabled - Devices that can receive notifications
- Push Subscribed - Devices registered for push alerts
Enabling Notifications for a Device
- Go to Notification Settings
- Find the device in the list
- Toggle Notifications ON
- Device will now receive notifications
Notification Thresholds
Set thresholds to only notify for significant events:
- Sales above: Only notify for sales over a certain amount
- Stock below: Alert when stock drops below minimum
- Deposit above: Notify for large customer deposits
Who Gets Notified?
Notifications go to users based on:
- Permission - User's role must have "Receive Notifications" permission
- Device - User's device must have notifications enabled
- Settings - Notification type must be turned on
Typical Setup:
- Admins/Owners - Get all notifications
- Managers - Get sales and stock alerts
- Cashiers - Usually don't need notifications
